Crafting Mysticism: Memento Mori, Memento Viviere
Killer Florals is an exploration of time, death, resistance, and the strange work of being alive. My pieces ask what it means to exist inside something we cannot stop: bodies change, flowers wilt, memories distort, people disappear, and time keeps moving.
Through cyanotype, printmaking, illustration, botanicals, and handmade objects, I return to the things we try to preserve, and the things that refuse preservation. Death appears often in my work, but rarely as an ending. It is a measure of time, a transformation, a reminder, and sometimes an act of resistance.
I make art from the tension between permanence and decay: the desire to hold on, the necessity of letting go, and the question of what remains.

Impermanence
Time leaves its mark on everything. My work considers decay, transformation, memory, and the beauty of things precisely because they do not last.

Resistance
To preserve, remember, create, and leave evidence behind are acts of resistance; "Existence as Resistance". I explore what it means to push against erasure, when permanence is impossible.
What Remains
Bodies change. Flowers die. Memories shift. I return again and again to that which survives transformation, what we carry forward, and what we leave behind.
